Zipping it!

Looking back at 2016 A to Z challenge, I completed it far better than this year’s challenge. But at least, I completed it this year too!

What next?

I’ve no idea whether I’m going to continue with any frequency, or go completely silent..

Let me face when it’s time.. And for now bidding adieu..

Thank you dear readers for your continued support! 😊

X ing a paragrab

The short story X ing a paragrab is written by Edgar Allan Poe.

It is one story that had me laughing so hard.

Written during the olden days, when the press used to manually set the entire article, letter by letter. And the rivalry between two presses and their challenging each other on drafting an article, with using of one particular character in almost all the words. So what happens when the entire block of that particular character is stolen and how the habit of using the character x as an alternate for the missing character is used.

I believe this was the starting point for all those challenges for using or not using any of the characters in blog posts.

Cry for help!

A big house, grand parents, two cousins, a game.

What could go wrong?

Nothing much, unless the game is to play police and thief, by a 5 year old and 3 year old. And the police decides to tie down the thief in an adult sized chair with real rope with real knot!

Oh yes, I did tie up my cousin and was not expecting to have tied a real knot and also was not expecting my cousin to start crying, because he couldn’t get out.

I started panicking as just one of the two is enough to land me into a good scolding and how am I going to resolve either of them?

And I too started to cry.. Don’t judge me! I was a helpless five year old!

And of course, eventually he was rescued from the knots and indeed we both had received scolding for the next hour or so.

Though till day, we haven’t discussed the instance as grown ups, it created a fear in me to get into games, from which I couldn’t rescue myself and it has also helped me to learn tying knots properly, to remove or to tighten.

And just like every crying memory of past brings a smile in the present, I do smile whenever I see any kid playing police-thief.

So what’s your smiling memory from your childhood?

What would you name it?!

A random day, a random conversation and a random challenge.. That’s the background of this following post.. I took up the challenge and completed it.. Now I would like to challenge you people for a simpler one.. Guess the prompt for which I wrote this post! 😉 And do suggest a good title for this post! 🙂

He was waiting for a decade..
For that moment..
The moment he would meet her..
The one destined for him..

When someone asked him,
How would he recognise her,
When they meet each other..
For that he replied,
I would recognise her the moment
When my vision becomes clouded with rainbows,
When my hearing is added with sweetest melody,
When my nostrils inhale the most exotic smells,
When my skin tingles with the thunderous shock and
When I speak, poetry flows out incessantly in praise of her..

The day came..
He met her..
He realised what he expected was right..
For he did experience all of them and a little more..
The little more was..
The rainbow was also clouded with tears,
The melody was chaotic without sync,
The smell include a waft of pungent smell,
The tremor of shock didn’t fade away while
He said, Happy married life, to her,
at his occasionally met cousin’s wedding!
And he stepped down from the stage murmuring,
Three isn’t always a crowd, but it is,
When your love is married to someone else!

The HDD!

I was so kindly asked by a crazy creative to take up a crazy challenge! I think I’m already crazy even for trying this.. Anyway, the weekend is here and time to give a break for stress, if you aren’t doing it already on a daily basis!

I’m to look around and think about the common object in an uncommon way and also spill my pearls of philosophy about it! (That’s how I understood.. Check here for the original post and you might find a new perspective too.. ;))

The object that found it’s way to dissection for this experiment is my External Hard Disk Drive!

The common view – Storage option with easier portability.

The uncommon view – A very good paper weight! (If you are already planning on killing me, please hold on till you read the rest! 😉 :P)

I’ll be kind enough to add the why too.. Though my drive is reasonably full and actively used (most times) I’ve been using mine as just a paper weight for the past few days. Isn’t it bit heavy on the cost for being paper weight? 😛

Now for the ultimate part of bringing out some philosophy about / on it..

The value of an object is in what it is within? Or how it is intended to be used? Or how it is ultimately used?

Despite containing some of my most valued data, today it is more useful for the mere weight rather than it’s real worth!

So it matters not who you are, what you aspire to be, what is the hurdle you have crossed so far to reach here.. When you let someone use you, they might diminish your value to scrap within a flash of thought. Beware of who you let in to use you!

Phew! It’s bit crazy, alright.. If I survive your death stare, I would be around to reply to your comments and in the meanwhile would be busy preparing a better post for tomorrow! 😉

Am I excused?!

“I’m sorry, ” I said
To HB, for joining in so late!

But consoled myself,
Better late than never,
To join in his Two-phrase story challenge,
Which I have extended to two-verse.. 😛

I will be sticking to just another phrase, from next week.. 😉 (I hope I do follow that!)

Musical Monday #5

He:
Oh dear one, I’ll ask you something
If you say no, I’ll part with my life

I’ll spread flowers for you to walk
I’ll adorn your skin with gold

There’s a wish in my heart
All I ask of you is to grant it!

She:
There’s no good heart better than yours
There’s not words enough to thank you

You are the mother and I’m the child
There’s no parting in this relationship

He:
Won’t a child come running towards the mother?
Why would you be so distant and cause me distress?
I am looking forward to cherish you
And why would you leave me all alone?

She:
The child has grown up into a damsel
The age to cherish as a kid, has flown by
It’s time for you, the mother to bless
And let the girl live out her heart in bliss

He:
I’ll pluck the moon to be a flower for you,
I’ll stitch the rainbow to be a dress for you,
I’ll do anything for you; what will you do for me?

She:
This one birth is not enough,
Even seven more won’t be enough,
I’ll pray every single day without fail,
For the God’s grace upon you!

He:
Don’t you know what I yearn for?
Won’t you still understand my heart?
Oh dear God, won’t this girl ever read through me?

What is the title you would choose for this song?

This again is a song translation for you to cherish the try of my translation or criticize and add more beauty to the verses. In case, you got Tamil songs on your playlist, you might have already guessed the song. If you are so near and need some hints, feel free to ask what clue you want.

I love this song for the pep beats and all the fun that happens in the visuals of this song.. (Which are in no way related to the verse) And the lyrics.. Oh dear, how could I ever talk about the legendary lyricist.. The words in its original form is so cute and mesmerising.. No replica could match the beauty of the original ever..

Edit: The original version with video available here!

And here comes the answer to last week’s translation, which was guessed right by Preethi.. Even if you can’t make out a single word in Tamil, I would strongly recommend this song for music lovers. The tune is so soft and soothing and had me swept off the floor for years now.. I still can’t stop listening to this song just once.. 😉

Thanks for reading through till this.. 🙂
